Chart.ly Most Popular Users Tab

When we began to draw up plans for the new Chart.ly, we took a look back at the old site and asked ourselves, what do we like here that we want to keep and what are the core functions of the site that have made it the hit that it is with our community.  One of those features is the most popular users tab, currently found on the left sidebar of the homepage.  It displays the top 15 chartists determined by an algorithm (hint, it’s not very complicated).

Chart.ly, and the StockTwits community in a broader sense, is all about idea generation and making connections with other traders.  Our goal is to provide a place for you to share your ideas with the community as easily as possible as well as find great ideas and people the second you arrive.  To this end, we’ve gotten great feedback about the most popular users tab.  It provides you with a list of the best users from the community immediately.

For the new site we’ve tweaked the algorithm a bit to make the list more dynamic.  We’ve also pared the list down to 10 users.  You can now find it on the All Stream of the new site on the right hand side bar.  We encourage you to keep discovering new members of the community, there are excellent new users sharing every day.

Leigh Drogen is the founder and chief investment officer of Surfview Capital, LLC, a New York based asset management firm. Leigh specializes in momentum and long/short strategies across several different asset classes. Using technical analysis supported by macro economic and fundamental factors, Leigh takes advantage of high probability movements on the swing trading time frame. Prior to founding Surfview Capital, Leigh served as an analyst and trader for Geller Capital Management, a White Plains, NY based asset management firm. His educational background includes focus in economics and international relations, specifically war theory. Along with publishing his own blog, Leigh heads up the development of the Chart.ly platform at StockTwits.
